So with us today, is arguably one of, if not the best powerlifter in Canadian history. Rhaea has been competing since 2003, internationally competing 30 times, and holds 5 world records in two weight classes right now. Rhaea Stinn has set nearly 20 world records throughout her career, across both equipped AND classic lifting. She’s won Sub-Junior Worlds, Junior Worlds, and Open Worlds equipped, as well as 33 national championships across the disciplines of bench-only, powerlifting, and both equipped and classic. Rhaea has topped the 600-wilks mark 7 different times, with her highest wilks being 649 equipped, and 491 classic.

In this week's episode we talk with Blaine Sumner.
Blaine made his first big splash on the IPF scene in 2012, first at the Raw Pacific Invitational where he would become the first classic lifter to squat 400kg, setting both the squat and total world records. Then a few months later at the Classic Powerlifting Cup in Sweden, the precursor to Classic Worlds that wouldn’t start until 2013. Blaine came in and put on a show in the SHW class, winning by almost 50kg.
Blaine’s accomplishments in classic lifting are certainly not lacking, but are wholly overshadowed by his equipped lifting resume. Blaine is the only person in the IPF to squat over 500kg, or bench over 400kg in a three lift meet and 455kg in a bench only, or to total almost 1300kg. Blaine has held the squat, bench and total world records since 2016.
Last but not least he has, as far as I am aware, drank the most chicken of any person on the planet.

Welcome to our very first episode of the Equipped Bruised Tired Podcast. We take the time this episode to introduce ourselves and give a little bit of background on our history in the sport as well as some stories from this year's CPU National Championships that took place about 7000 years ago, or so it feels, in March.
